Trails Day #2: Bushnell Park

Yesterday I was at Cedar Hill. Today (June 3rd, 2018), Day #2 of Connecticut Trails Day, brought me to the "Bushnell Park Trees and Arch Tour Tour" (held from 4:30 -6:30 p.m.).

This oak tree is an ancestor of the legendary CT Charter Oak tree tree.
This one even has a lightning rod!

According to the 2018 CT Trails Day Events Brochure, this educational walk is an opportunity to "learn about Bushnell Park's Trees and Trinity Arch with CFPA's Executive Director (Eric Hammerling), CT DEEP's Urban Forester (Chris Donnelly), Hartford's City Forester (Heather Dionne), and the Bushnell Park Foundation Manager (Mary Zeman)."

We began with the trees and after about an hour or so, we returned to the Memorial Arch for a tour including being able to climb to the top.
