Welcome 2020

View from my BR window this morning.

The kitties woke me up this morning at the usual time (~5 a.m.). I no longer need an alarm clock now that the kitties want me to give them their morning meal. This morning they split a can of Fancy Feast-trout something or other (for Adult cats: XXX?).

The picture above was taken later in the morning, after the sun was up. Our windows look NW so we are not getting the morning sun. Note the three (3) stained glass butterflies. These go back a few years. We originally got them at a craft fair for my mother-in-law, Judy. Now that she's gone, we have them and they remind me of days past and hope to come. I think butterflies are a symbol of good luck or something.

Another view from my window this morning. Note the parking garage in the
distance at Left. From this distance it sort of reminds me of the Civil War era
Fort Wadsworth at the Staten Island bridge (NYC). The parking garage is on
the CCSU campus, about a 10-minute walk from here.

Fort Wadsworth.

Today's weather was partly cloudy/sunny; temperatures were in the upper 30s with a bit of a breeze. Lynn and I went for a walk this afternoon on the FasTrack path, a couple miles. They don't plow it during the winter season but the weather has been warm enough during the day so there was no snow and any ice we encountered was rather slushy. We saw one brave bicyclist (well dressed for the weather).

And now...blue sky.

I spoke with Richard after our walk. He is near Savannah, GA waiting to deliver a load. He is staying in his cab at a truck stop south of the city so he was glad to have some conversation. Lynn will talk with him later.

Since I am finished with my GWTW books, this morning I started a new book. I wanted something easy (i.e., not too heavy) so I started one of Margaret Coel's mysteries, Winter's Child.  It sucked me in so much that it was hard to put down.

And now I am finishing the day by blogging. Aren't you glad? Me too!

Best wishes for a happy, prosperous, and safe New Year in 2020 and beyond.
